The council sets strategic direction for PFLAG within the state and performs much of the necessary administration, including maintenance of membership rosters, publishing of our newsletter, fundraising and grantwriting, bulk ordering and inventory maintenance of PFLAG literature for the chapters, and financial accounting, including the chapter accounting necessary for managing our non-profit status.

The council welcomes new ideas and fresh energies. In the past, the council has overseen advocacy efforts like the Safe Schools project.
